Santa Barbara Social Club, LLC provides breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack daily depending on the hours of the attendance. Menus are reviewed and approved by a registered dietician, all the meals served at the Adult Day Care center are catered from an outside source. Participants attending or in transit to the center for four or more hours are served at least one meal.
For elderly, food is one of the few joys of their daily routine. That is why avoiding boredom in the diet is essential. The dietary guidelines for each age group of persons will have to be adapted according to the capabilities of each individual.
The diet of the elderly should be energetic enough to ensure the needs of each person, but not very caloric or rich in fat, to avoid weight gain and excess cholesterol. and saturated fats. It should also provide enough protein, and be a varied diet to ensure pleasure with food.
Menus will meet or exceed the Adult Care Food Program pattern, as outlined in the ACFP Policy Manual, ACFP Food Crediting Guide and USDA Buying Guide.
